As the founding partner of TXRE Properties, LLC and its affiliates, Justin Smith oversees the management and leasing division of TXRE. His expertise also includes development opportunities and investment acquisitions and sales. His unique management style of combining property management with leasing has been successful at every managed TXRE property. Justin attended the University of New Hampshire on a full athletic scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration focusing in marketing. Justin earned his MS in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is married with two children and resides in Dallas, Texas.
Julia Gilbert oversees investment management and special projects. Her role as Investment Manager includes cash flow management and analysis, asset positioning, and value enhancement. Ms. Gilbert has over 20 years experience in real estate management. Prior to TXRE Properties, Ms. Gilbert was an asset manager for Macfarlan Real Estate Services where she managed a majority owned Morgan Stanley office portfolio in Texas and a privately held portfolio consisting of office, industrial and hotel assets throughout the United States. She was also with the Archon Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, where she worked in the international acquisitions division pursuing investment opportunities for Goldman Sachs and their operating partners in South America, Europe and Asia. Ms. Gilbert is a native of Houston and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting. She is a member of several community and professional organizations including Junior League of Dallas, Catholic Charity Services and CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women). Ms. Gilbert currently resides in Las Colinas with her husband and twin daughters.
Brokerage & Leasing
Kolby Dickerson joined TXRE Properties in 2015 and currently serves as Leasing Director. In his current role, Mr. Dickerson oversees the leasing and marketing of TXRE Properties. His expertise in the DFW office market provides exceptional value for his clients. Kolby attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate. He is a member of North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors, Texas Real Estate Commission Young Guns, & Texas Tech Alumni Association.
Upon graduation from the University of Arkansas, Magna Cum Laude, with degrees of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Management, Cole Moreano joined the TXRE team and currently serves as a leasing associate. In his role with TXRE, Cole specializes in identifying new business opportunities and assisting in project leasing assignments. Cole’s enthusiasm and prior business experience while attending university have allowed him to quickly build relationships with his colleagues and clients. Outside of work, Cole is an avid sports fan, and enjoys spending time with his family. Growing up playing competitive basketball, Cole is no stranger to action sports and likes setting new goals both on and off the court. Cole holds a real estate salesperson license in the state of Texas and currently resides in the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas.
Bill Pope graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Management. He joined the TXRE Team in August of 2019, and in his role he identifies potential business opportunities and is part of the project leasing team. Bill’s knowledge of both the Dallas / Tarrant county office markets coupled with his prior sales experience brings a unique perspective to the team. Outside of work, Bill likes to stay active and has recently taken up Jiu Jitsu in his free time. He also enjoys watching the Cowboys and spending time with friends.
Sam Davis joined the TXRE team in January 2020. In his role as leasing associate, Sam serves on the leasing front and supports the management team in identifying potential business opportunities. Sam previously attended University of Minnesota-Crookston on a full football athletic scholarship before graduating from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. His knowledge of the Dallas / Collin county office markets along with his eagerness for competing is a great addition to the TXRE team. Away from the office, Sam’s passion for sports finds him on a field or out with mates watching his favorite team. Sam in an active member in the Dallas branch of the Texas Tech Alumni Association.
Property Management & Engineering
Ryan Gilbert joined the TXRE team in 2013 and was promoted to property manager in March 2018. Ryan currently oversees the Dallas portfolio. His experience includes promoting and maintaining excellent tenant relations and proactively resolving building and tenant issues. He continually compares and negotiates on-going vendor contracts ensuring the best service, terms, and pricing. Ryan’s strong skill set compliments TXRE’s goals and missions to provide excellent service to our clients.
Sherry Thweatt has 25+ years of experience in real estate management. She joined the TXRE family in 2020 as a Property Manager/Facilities Associate.
Sherry began her real estate career in 1990 with Continental Realty Corporation overseeing a 200,000 sq. ft. commercial property in the Dallas area and remained with three different owners as the property changed hands over the next eight years.
Prior to TXRE Properties, Mrs. Thweatt was the General Manager for Hall Office Park where she was responsible for the property management of over 2.5 million square feet of Class A office/retail space. Her professional and tenant relationship skills, coupled with her proven ability to embrace challenges head on, have enabled her to achieve above-standard service and results.
Sherry is a native of Galveston, Texas. After moving to Dallas, Texas she attended Brookhaven College studying real estate. Mrs. Thweatt currently resides in Carrollton, Texas with her husband and they have two grown children. Sherry enjoys football, singing and spending time with her family.
Kandace Walker joined TXRE properties in 2019 and represents our firm in the property management department. Her experience includes hospitality and residential property management; supervising all daily operations. Her professional and warm personality is the perfect combination for helping our clients. In her free time she loves to spend time with her family and friends and doing arts and crafts.
Gregory Hood joined TXRE Properties in 2008 and currently serves as our chief Facilities Engineer. As Facilities Engineer, Mr. Hood coordinates and oversees the operations and maintenance of the TXRE managed properties in a cost effective manner aimed at long term preservation of the asset. His responsibilities include care of the heating and air conditioning systems, plumbing, lighting systems, grounds keeping, and preventative maintenance programs. Prior to joining TXRE, Mr. Hood served eight years in the U.S. Navy working as a building supervisor ensuring a high quality of life for America’s sailors. Mr. Hood holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science with a focus in HVAC Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. He is certified by the Environmental Protection Agency as a universal technician and holds R-410 and R-608 certifications. Mr. Hood continues to serve his country in the Navy Reserves. He currently resides in Grand Prairie with his wife and two children.
Diane Able obtained an Associate’s degree in Accounting and Computer Programming, which she has utilized over a distinguished thirty year career at the Goldman Sachs and Klabzuba Realty companies. Mrs. Able joined the TXRE team in 2018 and is currently recognized as the Property Controller. Her past experience with large multinational financial organizations and local family offices gives her a uniquely insightful perspective which has enhanced her abilities across retail, office, hotel, and multi-family property management. Mrs. Able was born in Waco, Texas and moved to Fort Worth in 1995. Diane and her husband have raised two children and are ardent Dallas Cowboys fans.
Cole Johnson joined the TXRE team in January of 2019 and currently serves in the Accounting department. In his current role, he handles all aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable. Cole attended The University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics. Prior to graduating from The University of Texas at Arlington, Cole was on a full athletic scholarship to play basketball for Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He enjoys anything that will allow him to compete and loves a challenge. His ideas of fun are learning more about financial analysis, spending time with family and friends and playing sports.
